HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME ADDRESS

APPLEHILLS ACADEMY


At Applehills we are committed to providing the very best start in life for your children, our pupils. As Headteacher, I am passionate about developing good quality basic skills whilst fostering a confident, resilient and firm-rooted self-belief in all children. I am very clear about the role that the community plays in this and warmly welcome involvement from the parents and wider community.

Our drive is to ensure all children make progress, through providing opportunities for reflective teaching where creative first-hand experiences allow your children to develop as independent enquirers, who know why they are learning what they are learning; can communicate effectively allowing them to use this in future learning opportunities. Our main purpose each day is to facilitate engagement in, and for, learning and discovery, and, where possible, ensuring this happens collaboratively.

BRIEF HISTORY



Applehills registered in January, 2014 and commenced service in October, 2014.

We are a thinking school that offers a first class education form early years to senior secondary level.

We provide rigorous learning opportunities that stir creativity, critical thinking, enhance physical and mental well being and optimise learning experience

Verse 1… Put a smile upon your face (two hands both with pointer fingers making a gesture of a smile on your face). Raise your hands and say hello! (wave) It’s time to settle in to your school days (hands on hips) No bullying in our school, (shake heads back and forth in a NO motion) Only Respect for one and all we do it right at Applehills Academy……. (Hold hands and swing up and down) CHORUS…These are our school days, Our Applehills days A Place to Learn a Place to play, The Applehills way... X2

Verse2…. It’s a home away from home (cross your arms on your chest) Ensuring fruitful (make action of something growing from little to big). It’s time to learn and be great!!! Verse 3…Making Friends so we can play, in our yard we go each day, so lucky for our Applehills School Don’t forget your lunch (gesture of eating); It helps your brain a bunch (point to your head), we love to learn at Applehills Academy!!
